SOLUTION

The proposed solution designed by Smart Offices included installation of a new audiovisual system to provide video distribution and display, audio reinforcement, video conferencing, recording, and AV system control. The existing AMX control and Extron switching system were replaced and updated by a Crestron media distribution and control system. Lutron wall partition sensors were reused allowing automatic AV configuration of the video and audio systems based on the wall positions.

Flexible Room Configuration

The three rooms at Michigan Dental Association, Conference Room A, Conference Room B, and the Boardroom, are capable of independent and combined operations.

Combinations:

– A, B, Boardroom All Separate

– A + B, Boardroom Separate

– A Separate, B + Boardroom Combined

– A + B + Boardroom All Combined

Conference Room A

We are in the back left corner of the room looking over the rows of desks towards the projection screen

Conference Room B

We are in the back row of seats looking squarely at the projection screen

Cameras

The Boardroom and Conference Room A were equipped with front and rear pan/tilt/zoom conferencing cameras. The front cameras are 5x wide-angle cameras. The rear cameras are 10x with a standard field of view. Conference Room B was equipped with a front 5x zoom wide-angle camera.

Wireless Presentation and Conferencing

Each room was equipped with a Barco Clickshare wireless presentation/conferencing system. The Clickshare for the Boardroom interfaces with the camera(s) and audio system for online conferencing. The Clickshare for Conference Room A was interfaced with the camera and audio system in the room for online conferencing. The Clickshare for Conference Room B is used for presentation only.

The rooms are configured for “bring your own device conferencing”. A guest laptop can host the Zoom, Teams, or Webex meeting.

Audio

The existing Poly Soundstructure 12 & 16 audio processors were replaced with a new Biamp Tesira Forte audio system.

  •  Wireless microphones were reused.
  •  Wired microphones were reused.
  •  Hearing assist loops were reused.
  • The Boardroom, Conference Room A, and Conference Room B were each equipped with two beam tracking ceiling microphones to pick up all participants in the room during conferencing calls.

Amplification and speakers were reused. Speakers were repositioned in the ceiling to minimize microphone feedback. NOTE: Separation of speakers and additional audio amplification channels may be required for proper voice lift/amplification in the room using the table mics.

Wall Plates

Conference Rooms A and B are equipped with HDMI wall plates for multimedia presentation.

 

 

Projection

Each room was equipped with a new laser video projector and a ceiling recessed DaLite electric projection screen.

Online Conferencing

The Conference Rooms are capable of online conferencing using services such as Zoom, WebEx, and Teams. All video and audio conference calls will be performed using the online AV bridging service via an immediate or scheduled conference call.

Room Computer

A room computer will be available as a presentation resource (no online conferencing) unless the Barco button is plugged into the PC.

Table Interface

Two HDMI connections were set up for the boardroom at the table front and rear, replacing the VGA connection. Connectivity is made available through floor boxes below.
